Flo and I have joked about taking pictures of us playing chess in different locations...and yesterday we made it happen. Home Depot. The Park. The local middle school. Our old high school. My bathroom. You name the place, and you bet we were there with our chessboard.

2. Also from H&M, this 70s-inspired dress. I'm a sucker for anything that's mustard/goldenrod-colored, though.
3. This simple canvas backpack from Baggu.
4. The new Jane Eyre DVD...just kidding, I pre-ordered this last week and have watched it twice already. (Also, what's up with the new DVD cover? I like the old design better.)

Room Facelift

I'm not dorming at school, so with a little motivation (aka being stuck in the house for almost a week due to my wisdom teeth) I decided to completely redo my room. Originally the walls had been seafoam, with one wall a black and white checkerboard. I painted everything over white. It kind of has the feel of an insane asylum at the moment (again, I've been stuck in the house), but little by little I've been hanging pictures up (Finally I've found a spot for my Fleet Foxes poster!) and arranging my things.

Tomorrow, before I make another stop at the dentist, I'm going to visit an antique warehouse to see if I can pick up some different kind of frames to hang photos in!

Wanted This Week

Yesterday, I got my two bottom wisdom teeth removed, so I've been internet window-shopping while eating ice cream and yogurt all day. Good news, though! - I get to go back again to get my top two wisdom teeth removed, as well! Hooray! The dentists must know that I love looking like a chipmunk.

Anyway, here are some things I've been coveting. Now I just need a steady job...

1. Scotch & Soda's Women's Fall Collection.
I wish there was a way to wear fall clothing without it actually being cold outside... I'm not anxious for cooler weather, but just look at those stripes and elbow patches!

2. These boots from Urban Outfitters.
Plain and simple, and they look like they'd be good for making my way around campus once school starts.

3. The Brooklyn SLR camera bag by ONA.
I've never seen such a beautiful camera bag in all my life. And considering that I bring my camera with me almost everywhere... sigh.

County Fair

I don't think I've been to the county fair since I was ten. I can't really remember what I thought about it back then, but I had a good time went I went with some friends on Tuesday! We did what you'd normally do at a county fair, I guess - walked through the petting zoo, watched some shows (including this really fake wrestling match - but check out that one guy's pants in the photo!), went on rides... Well, I didn't go on any rides since I have a wonderful thing called motion sickness. The best part of the fair was probably a lederhosen-wearing German guy who did tricks and told jokes. He was hilarious. We watched his show twice.

Princeton

Yesterday I spent the afternoon in Princeton with my pals, Flo and Ryan. We walked around campus and up and down Nassau Street (more than) a few times. We stopped at The Bent Spoon, which (now that I think about it) is definitely my favorite ice cream place...ever. It's ridiculously cute inside. And of course the ice cream is the best. I also accidentally bought an umbrella. Don't ask. (It worked out, though, because it started raining soon after I bought it.)

I'm horrible at this.

I've never been able to keep up a blog, besides my Tumblr. But that's easy because it's pretty much all reblogging and it's not very structured as far as putting words and images and links all into a single post goes.

I'm starting art school in the fall, and I'm a big fan of art student blogs, so I figured that I might as well try to keep up my own! I'm taking basic classes this semester (drawing, visual thinking, etc.), along with a photography class.

We'll see how this goes!
